THE DUNMOW RAILWAY

Not "designed" but like Topsy it just "growed". However it's possibly my most successfull exhibition model. It represents an isolated branch line in the wilds of Essex, which was closed by Dr. Beeching. But due to a bureaucratic error the staff continue to receive their wages and operate the railway with enthusiasm. They are ably assisted by a lorry driver, a solitary passenger, a blond bombshell, a train spotter, a duck and a suicidal mad cow! Winner of the Sir Alec Issigonis Shield at SkegEx 1996,  Extensive article + 21 colour illustrations in Constructor Quarterly No 36.
