CLIFF RAILWAY

Built in 1990s French parts, it’s basically a freelance design but the cars are from the original Lynton & Lynmouth which were de-mountable. It operates automatically by a bowden cable counterbalanced drive. The cars hit plungers at the lower station, which reverses the motor, but a mechanical "lost motion" system delays the ascent. This model has proved to be very successful at exhibitions being quick to set up and can be left running for hours without attention.
