DELIVERY
We usually dispatch orders 1-7 working days from receipt, but please be patient as sometimes we are very busy. Also, as a small family business, there may be delays of up to 21 working days during holiday periods (December-mid January, April & mid July-mid September).
Please note: we always obtain proof of postage, but once in the hands of the carrier we have no further control and therefore cannot accept responsibility for delay, damage or loss. In the case of insured orders we will dilligently make a claim if necessary on behalf of the customer and pass on the full amount of any compensation received. However please note that Royal Mail and other delivery services always seek to impose restrictions on claims eg; limiting to cost/trade price of goods only, no taxes, no other charges of any sort covered etc. Therefore any claim, if and when settled, will usually be less than the total cost the customer has paid. Until a claim has been settled, we regret we cannot replace a delayed, damaged or lost order without a full payment for goods, postage, insurance and Paypal etc as appropriate.
RETURNS
Should any item not be to our specified quality (See product information), please always contact us in the first instance, before returning for replacement.
Regretably, as a small business, we are unable to accept returns on correctly supplied goods. However, at our sole discretion, we may consider returns from longstanding, regular customers who make a request within 7 days of receipt of the goods. In which case we will credit against new orders the goods value only, less a 15% restocking charge provided they are returned by the purchaser at their expense in the same condition as supplied.
Parts designated 2nd quality cannot be accepted for return, unless they are physically (not cosmetically) defective. Mixed 2nd quality parts are not accepted for return under any circumstances.

UK SHIPPING
UK shipping is automaticaly worked out at 10% of the total value of your order plus £1.50 (up to a £29.95 maximum)
Orders above £100 goods value are usually insured at no extra cost.
Orders below £100 can be insured for a fee of £5 (this can be selected during the checkout process).
Very occasionally, if an order consists largely of heavy/low value parts, the postage cost can substantially exceed our P.P. formula. While we will absorb small amounts of extra postage, we will advise if any extra payment is needed.

COLLECTION
We usually trade at the following clubs & exhibitions where pre-paid orders can be collected, saving postal charges; NELMC (Hainault), NMMG (Oxton), Runnymede (Ottershaw), SELMC (Eltham), WLMS (Greenford), HSME (Henley) and TIMS (Ironbridge). Plus Exhibitions at Skegness, Kew Bridge, Eltham, Ironbridge, Henley, Hainault, Liecester, and St Albans. See our homepage link for more details.
Customers are also welcome to collect orders from Great Dunmow (by appointment).
If you wish to collect your goods please be sure to select "Collection" from the shipping options in the checkout and to specify where you would like to collect your order from in the comments box.
We can accept a pre-paid cheque for "collected" orders if there's enough time for them to clear, otherwise we require cash on collection please. If you opt for the latter, don't send a payment, though on large orders we may ask for a nominal deposit.
OVERSEAS ORDERS
Shipping is charged AT COST* (by the most appropriate service) plus £2.95 for packing/admin and the paypal fee (minimum £0.50).
(*We generally quote Royal Mail Airmail/Parcelforce Global Value standard prices. Sometimes we use other established carriers where there is a better/quicker service available at no extra cost).
The preferred payment method is Credit Card or PayPal.
Simply proceed with your order online to make a payment for the goods only. We will contact you with the shipping cost when the parcel is ready.
Shipping on orders over £100 is usually insured. If you require shipping insurance on orders of under £100 (though this is often relatively expensive) please specify in the comments box during the checkout stages and we will include this in the final tally.
The extra payment for shipping can then be paid via Credit Card or Paypal.
When advised shipping payments should be made via our "make shipping payment" page. (This facility can be used for other miscelaneous payments as well).
If you are not using card/Paypal, we accept cheques drawn on UK banks, International money Money Orders, or small sums of UK cash sent at your risk. Please add AMPLE for postage, or you may have to make a second payment. (Remember Meccano is very Heavy). We will credit any surplus, or send extra parts to cover. (state preference).
Occasionally on very large orders, or to new customers we will ask for payment by bank transfer.
